VidSummit Costs $995, TwitchCon $149. Both Are Right.

Comparing conference ticket prices is the least useful thing you can do with them.

VidSummit is $995. A TwitchCon San Diego pass starts at $149. That's a 6.7× gap between two events that both call themselves creator conferences. The gap isn't quality. It's that one sells you education and access, and the other sells you a room full of your own audience — and once you add travel, the cheap ticket is the one that misleads you most.

tl;dr

Three events are worth planning around: VidSummit (Sep 29 – Oct 1, 2026, Irving TX, $995), TwitchCon San Diego (Nov 13 – 15, 2026, from $149) and VidCon Anaheim (Jul 8 – 10, 2027). On a modelled four-day trip, VidSummit's ticket is 46% of the cost and TwitchCon's is 10%. Budget roughly 2.2× the VidSummit ticket and 9.8× the TwitchCon one. VidSummit was $895 in May, so the price has already moved once.

The three events worth planning around

There are dozens of creator events. Most are regional, brand-funded, or aimed at marketers rather than creators. These three are the ones that change what you do next.

The cheaper ticket hides more of the cost

Here's the part nobody prices in. A conference is a four-day commitment: travel day, three days on site. Below is a build-up for a US domestic traveller. The ticket prices are real; everything else is a stated assumption you should swap for your own numbers.

Modelled four-day trip cost, one person
VidSummitIrving, TX$2,185Ticket is 46% of the tripTwitchConSan Diego, CA$1,459Ticket is 10% of the tripTicketFlightHotel — 3 nightsFood + ground
Assumptions: $350 round-trip US domestic flight; 3 nights at $180 (Irving) and $220 (San Diego); $300 food and ground transport. Only the ticket prices are sourced — the rest is a model, and your numbers will differ. The point is the ratio, not the total.

VidSummit lands at $2,185 and TwitchCon at $1,459. The 6.7× ticket gap collapses to 1.5× once you price the trip. And the $149 badge turns out to be 10% of what going costs — so the number on the pricing page tells you almost nothing about the decision you're actually making.

There's a fifth line the model can't put a dollar on: four days you're not filming, editing, or shipping. If you upload weekly, that's most of a cycle.

What each one is actually selling

VidSummit — education and operator access

Three days of sessions, workshops and keynotes, and the ticket includes on-demand replays of everything. The audience skews toward creators treating the channel as a business — the hallway conversations are about retention curves, hiring editors, and what happens when ad revenue stops tracking your view count. It's priced like a business conference because that's what it is.

TwitchCon — your audience, in a room

Community meetups, meet-and-greets, Twitch Rivals, the show floor. The badge is cheap because the value isn't the programming — it's that people who watch you can stand in front of you. For a streamer, that's the whole point. If you're a faceless-channel operator looking for tactics, you'll wonder why you came.

VidCon — scale, industry and brand deals

The biggest of the three, and the most split: a fan-facing Community track, a Creator track, and an Industry track where the brand and MCN conversations happen. Worth it if you're actively hunting sponsorships. Expensive and crowded if you just want to learn.

What to do this week

  1. Decide on VidSummit now, not in September. The same ticket was $895 in May and it's $995 today — the price has already moved once, and it's seven weeks out. Flights into DFW get worse from here too. Waiting has a price and it only goes one way.
  2. Price your own trip before you commit. Take the four lines above, put your real flight and hotel numbers in, and look at the total rather than the ticket. If the total makes you flinch, that's the answer.
  3. Write down the one thing you want out of it. An editor hire, three sponsor conversations, one specific problem solved. A conference without a goal is a $2,000 holiday with worse coffee.
  4. Bank two uploads before you go. Four days off is a gap in your cadence, and cadence gaps show up in your analytics two weeks later.

Conferences are one way to find out what's working in your niche. They happen three times a year. MyCoCreator is the other way: connect your channel and get the niche, competitor and opportunity read weekly, without the flight.

Frequently asked questions

How much does VidSummit 2026 cost?

The ticket is $995 as of August 7, 2026, and includes all three days plus on-demand replays. Adding a modelled $350 flight, three nights of hotel at $180, and $300 of food and ground transport puts a four-day trip at roughly $2,185 — so the ticket is about 46% of the real cost.

When and where is VidSummit 2026?

September 29 to October 1, 2026, at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas in Irving, Texas, in the Dallas–Fort Worth metro.

How much is a TwitchCon San Diego 2026 pass?

Passes start at $149. TwitchCon San Diego runs November 13 to 15, 2026, at the San Diego Convention Center. Because the badge is cheap, it's only about 10% of a modelled four-day trip — travel dominates the budget.

When is VidCon 2027?

VidCon Anaheim returns July 8 to 10, 2027, at the Anaheim Convention Center. Pricing for 2027 hasn't been published yet.

Which creator conference is worth it?

It depends what you need. VidSummit for education and operator-level conversations, TwitchCon if your audience is live and you want to meet them, VidCon if you're hunting brand deals at scale. Below roughly 10,000 subscribers, none of them pay back yet.
